Reinhard Arndt

Reinhard is a Chartered Accountant with extensive expertise in M&A advisory, deal structuring & negotiation, equity & debt capital markets, and leveraged finance across various industries and geographies. His career spans both Johannesburg and London, giving him a rich and diverse professional background. Reinhard earned his undergraduate and honours degrees (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University, finishing at the top of his honours class and placing second countrywide in SAICA’s initial professional exam.
Reinhard began his career at Investec, working in various investment banking teams in Johannesburg and London, where he gained expertise in debt structuring, principal investments, and advisory. He then joined Goldman Sachs in Johannesburg, specialising in M&A advisory and capital markets, and played a key role in major transactions in Sub-Saharan Africa. These included Standard Bank’s buyout of Liberty’s minority shareholders, Barloworld’s unbundling and listing of Avis (Zeda) on the JSE, and Sibanye-Stillwater’s acquisition of Reldan in Pennsylvania.
After his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Reinhard co-founded Twofold Capital with Ed where his extensive transaction experience and deep industry knowledge brings significant value to the Twofold ecosystem.
Ed du Plessis

Ed is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over six years of experience in financial, operational, and investment roles across various sectors, including healthcare, retail, food & agriculture, and financial services. He has a proven track record of working closely with various C-suite executives in both listed and private domains. Ed graduated with undergraduate and honours degrees (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University.
His professional career began at Deloitte, where he acquired valuable expertise in management consulting, audit advisory, and data analytics, working with listed and private clients across diverse industries. He was recognised on SAICA’s honours list as one of the top ten CA(SA) candidates nationwide in his final professional examination.
He subsequently joined Acorn Private Equity, where he was instrumental in the firm’s investment and post-investment processes dealing with corporate restructuring, turnaround strategies, portfolio management, capital raising, financial analysis, and stakeholder management. Ed contributed to notable transactions and achievements in the Acorn team, including the acquisition of Kyron Animal Health which received the Catalyst Private Equity Deal of the Year award. Ed’s attention to detail, strategic thinking, and operational experience make him an invaluable asset to Twofold and its portfolio companies.
